Pine Street Activities - 2005-2006 - 10/28/2005 Harvest Festival
This activity is much anticipated at Pine! And the HS students give so much to the kids and to the success of this activity/project. After all the carving is done, they help put the pumpkins up on the edge of Pine Street's roof. That is a cold and dirty proposition at this time of year, but they all have a great time. This year, their participation in this activity took even more dedication. With MEAPs and the later start time, this group of students came to Pine at 8:00 and worked on all of this first! Chris Robinson does a wonderful job coordinating this! Everything goes so smoothly--it is just a wonderful example of multi-age learning. You can see exactly that on the faces in some of these pictures.
In addition to the pumpkin carving and the roof walking, the Harvest Festival consists of face painting, acorn man construction, bandana stamping, gourd walk, petting zoo, big equipment display, pasta necklaces, caramel apples, scarecrow face construction, and a Native American presentation.
