High School Classes - 2008-2009 - 1/19/2009 Art Class
The 1st pictures you took in my art room was of a drawing class. Students were working on one of several drawing projects. This unit was a Contour Line project where students drew an entire still life using one, single line.
The dark room at FHS could be just about the top wet darkroom facility in Newaygo County. It is set up with 13 enlarger stations (including one teaching station) on the 'dry side' and 2 chemical stations on the 'wet side.' It accomodates a class of 24 students at one time, and FHS students will work in it daily from now until the end of the trimester. (Next tri, we will have a full load of 4 photo classes being run thru there!)
The art dept also has a small kiln room where the pottery & sculpture classes can fire their ceramic projects. Most of the ceramic supplies are stored in there, including glazes, kiln tools and some storage shelves which hold the greenware pottery pieces waiting to be fired.
The great backbone of the art department is the back storage room. There, supplies are organized, tools are inventoried and materials are kept for class use. There is a contunial flow of art products in and out of the supply room as each teacher prepares for class and each project has it's own needs.
