SkillsUSA State Winners

Fremont Public Schools is pleased to announce the best of the BEST. As far as Visual Imaging Technology is concerned, these students are in fact the best in the state. The students include, Kelly Sprague, Annie Taggart, Andrew Clink, and Hailey Junod. These students received an Olympic sized gold medal by winning a multi-phase contest, performed on site, under the supervision of professionals from industry.

Kellie Sprague - 1st Place in Graphic Communications/Printing.
Annie Taggart - 1st Place in Promotional Bulletin Board, a design and speaking contest.
Andrew Clink - 1st Place in Advertising Design, a hands-on, 6 hour contest.
Hailey Junod - 1st Place in Commercial Photography.

To win the state SkillsUSA event, the student had to compete on a local level, regional level, (held at the Traverse Bay Area Career Center,) and eventually beat the other competitors from the other six regions. To appreciate the number of students in a given competition, one must figure 40 competitors on the local level multiplied by 4 or 5 schools per region, multiplied by the 6 regions. This means that a Newaygo County champion may have beaten as many as 1,000 other students.
