High School Classes - 2006-2007 - Art 1/Creative Studies : These projects were made by the Art 1/Creative Studies classes here at FHS. Students were to create a colage which was 3-D, able to hang or stand, and included at least 18 things about themselves. Students started with nothing but cardboard, glue and ideas. They then cut, attatched and built baseboards which would support objects, photos and momentos that directly related to things in their own lives. The requirement that the piece not be flat meant that various levels and extensions needed to be incorporated into their compositions. The results were outstanding, and can be seen on display in the hallways outside the art room on the third floor. High School Classes - 2006-2007 - 9/22/2006 - English - Common Unity with Group Drumming : A few objectives which Miss Tarala and Mrs. Knysz English classes are pursuing for trimester A, are large and small group dynamics, public speaking, non-verbal communication, listening and following directions, and inclusion. One avenue used to achieve these objectives was group drumming. According to www.communityinrhythm.com group drumming builds bridges while fostering nurturing, support, camaraderie, self-respect and tolerance. Group drumming opens doors for meaningful self-expression when words alone limit our ability to move beyond perceived obstacles.
